About the manufacturer
Circle
Krug is one of the world's most legendary Champagne houses, representing the pinnacle of craftsmanship in Champagne since 1843. Based in Reims, the house adheres to a distinctive philosophy: each Champagne is a work of art, meticulously blended from hundreds of Wines. This art of cuvée is at the heart of Krug's identity, making each Vintage truly special.
The Grande Cuvée is Krug's classic – a finely tuned blend of different Vintages and vineyards, offering consistent elegance and complexity. The limited Vintages, on the other hand, showcase the potential of exceptional Champagne years and develop beautifully in the cellar.
What truly sets Krug apart is its attention to detail: long maturation periods, traditional fermentation in small wooden barrels, minimal dosage – all of which requires time and patience. The result is champagne with depth, mineral freshness, and delicate notes that linger on the palate.
At Wine In Time you will find a carefully selected range of Krug champagnes, from the tried and tested Grande Cuvée to rare Vintage bottles – something for every special moment.

The Krug Clos du Mesnil Brut 2008 is among the most exceptional Vintage Champagnes in the world. The legendary House of Krug owns a tiny plot of just 1,84 hectares in Champagne – the Clos du Mesnil. Here, only Chardonnay grapes thrive, protected by a stone wall since 1698. The 2008 Vintage is considered one of the greatest of the decade and, with 12,5% alcohol, is both elegant and precise.
The vinification follows the Krug philosophy: each parcel is fermented individually in small oak barrels, without malolactic fermentation. This preserves the wine's original freshness and vibrancy. After at least ten years of lees aging, the Krug Clos du Mesnil Brut 2008 develops exceptional depth without losing its liveliness. The dosage remains subtle so as not to mask the mineral structure.
The nose reveals aromas of citrus fruits, white blossoms, and a delicate chalky minerality. On the palate, an electrifying freshness unfolds, accompanied by notes of roasted hazelnuts, brioche, and a hint of ginger. The finish is endless, precise, and imbued with a cool elegance that lingers long after you've finished.
