The year 2015 was marked by extreme weather conditions that demanded a lot from the vines – and ultimately produced a vintage that impresses with its concentration, structure, and depth. After a mild winter, spring began early and dry, leading to a rapid budbreak. However, early summer brought intense heat waves and drought stress, presenting challenges in the vineyards. July was one of the hottest months since weather records began. It wasn’t until August that temperatures cooled, accompanied by welcome rainfall that revitalized the vines and brought the ripening process back into balance. Harvest at Dom Pérignon began on September 1 under ideal conditions. The grapes were in perfect condition – ripe, concentrated, yet still fresh. Particularly noteworthy is the remarkable balance between dense fruit and precise acidity, which gives the Dom Pérignon 2015 its exceptional tension and elegance. A vintage that shines through its contrasts – and merges into a harmonious whole in the Dom Pérignon cuvée.

The Dom Pérignon philosophy
Dom Pérignon has a minimalist winemaking philosophy. Any artificial intervention is dispensed with. The arch enemy is called oxidation. The assemblage is the basis of the Dom Pérignon style. It is subject to timeless principles. A slow, long aging of the wine on the lees is the price Dom Pérignon pays to produce an incomparable champagne and one of the most complex wines ever.
