About the manufacturer
Glenmorangie
Glenmorangie is one of Scotland's leading single malt whisky distilleries and has stood for exceptional craftsmanship since 1843. Located in the Highlands of Tain, the distillery uses the tallest stills in Scotland – a secret to the distinctive, elegant and fruity style that distinguishes Glenmorangie worldwide.
What makes the distillery special is its innovative philosophy: While many whisky producers follow traditional paths, Glenmorangie consciously experiments with different cask types and maturation lengths. The "wood finishing" tradition – aging in a variety of wooden casks such as bourbon, sherry, port, or Tokaj – gives each whisky its own unique profile. From the original bottling to the complex Lasanta and the exotic A Tale of Tokyo, you'll find a diversity here that will take you on a flavor journey.
The distillery combines high quality with accessibility – you get premium single malts without unnecessary markups. At Wine In Time, you'll find the full range of this exceptional producer, from classic favorites to limited-edition creations, and benefit from the expertise of our specialists.

A Tale of Tokyo
Glenmorangie A Tale of Tokyo is a tribute to the vibrant metropolis and its contrasting elegance. This renowned distillery from the Scottish Highlands combines traditional craftsmanship with Japanese refinement in this single malt Scotch whisky – a synergy reflected in every drop. The inspiration for this limited edition bottling came from nighttime strolls through Tokyo's streets, where neon lights meet centuries-old temples.
The vinification of Glenmorangie A Tale of Tokyo follows an exceptional maturation process. After initial aging in American ex-bourbon casks, the whisky undergoes a finishing period in rare Japanese Mizunara oak casks. This particular type of wood is known for its fragility and its influence: it releases spicy, almost incense-like aromas, combined with floral hints of cherry blossom and a touch of bitter orange. This finish gives the single malt a distinctive signature that sets it apart from classic Highland whiskies.
On the nose, delicate notes of mandarin orange, orange zest, and a hint of ginger unfold, accompanied by a subtle peppery spice. On the palate, the Glenmorangie A Tale of Tokyo is elegant and smooth: creamy vanilla notes meet candied fruit, while spicy oak nuances and a fine bittersweetness provide balance. The finish is long, warm, and carried by a subtle spiciness that lingers long after – a meditative finale.
