About the manufacturer
Luciano Sandrone
Luciano Sandrone is one of the great names from Piedmont and represents Barolo at its finest. The small winery in Barolo operates with a philosophy that perfectly balances tradition and innovation – precisely what makes great Italian Wines.
What makes Sandrone special is his deep connection to his vineyards and his minimal intervention. His Barolos are both concentrated and elegant, with the typical power of Nebbiolo, but also a fine texture that reveals meticulous craftsmanship. The Wines age for extended periods in traditional large wooden casks – not new barriques – which allows them time to breathe and preserves their natural complexity.
“Le Vigne” is a superb example from the portfolio: a Barolo that expresses the essence of the terroir without being overly opulent. Here you'll find the characteristic complexity – cherry, tar, spices – combined with a velvety texture that is truly captivating.
At Wine In Time you get authentic Italian wine culture from a producer whose reputation has been proven over decades.

Barolo Le Vigne
The Luciano Sandrone Barolo Le Vigne 2016 Magnum is an outstanding example of classic Barolo craftsmanship from Piedmont . Luciano Sandrone is one of the region's most renowned winemakers, and in this wine, he combines the best from several select Nebbiolo vineyards within the Barolo DOCG. The 1,5-liter magnum bottle is not only visually impressive but also promotes a slower, more harmonious aging of the wine.
The vinification process is carried out with the utmost care: After traditional maceration and controlled fermentation, the Luciano Sandrone Barolo Le Vigne 2016 matures in French barriques and large wooden casks, where it develops complexity and structure. The 2016 Vintage is considered excellent – cool and balanced, ideal for long-aging Nebbiolo Wines with finesse and depth.
The nose reveals a multifaceted bouquet of dark cherries, dried roses, licorice, and delicate spice notes. On the palate, the Nebbiolo's robust character shines through: powerful yet elegant, with present, ripe tannins and lively acidity. The finish is long, mineral, and subtly spicy – a Barolo that rewards patience and can age for years to come.
