Roberto Voerzio is one of Piedmont's finest Barolo producers, renowned for exceptional quality from the La Morra wine region. For decades, the winery has relied on traditional methods combined with a modern understanding of viticulture – resulting in complex, elegant Barolos with profound character.
What makes Voerzio special: The winery focuses on small, carefully selected parcels in the heart of the Barolo region. The Wines are made from old Nebbiolo vines, vinified with great respect for the terroir, and aged in traditional large wooden casks. This results in Wines with structure, elegance, and impressive aging potential – not the over-extracted, modern Barolos, but authentic classics.

The Roberto Voerzio Brunate 2017 is among Piedmont's great Barolo Wines and embodies the exceptional skill of one of the region's most uncompromising winemakers. Roberto Voerzio cultivates only a few hectares in the most renowned vineyards around La Morra, and the Brunate vineyard is considered his flagship. From this exposed, southwest-facing slope with its calcareous soils come world-class Nebbiolo grapes.
Vinification is carried out with the utmost care: spontaneous fermentation in open wooden vessels, extended maceration for deep extraction, followed by aging in French oak barrels. Roberto Voerzio prioritizes minimal intervention and maximum authenticity – the wine should allow the terroir to speak for itself. The 2017 Roberto Voerzio Brunate presents a nose full of dark cherries, dried roses, tobacco, and delicate spice notes. On the palate, it displays impressive structure, silky tannins, and a depth that rewards patience. The finish is long, elegant, and characterized by a subtle minerality.
