The Georges Roumier Chambolle Musigny 2018 This is a Burgundian Pinot Noir of exceptional elegance and depth. The Georges Roumier winery is one of the absolute icons of the region. Burgundy and enjoys the highest reputation among connoisseurs worldwide. In Chambolle-Musigny, one of the most poetic appellations of the Côte de Nuits, Wines of almost ethereal finesse are produced – and this 2018 Vintage is a classic example of this.
The grapes come from plots surrounding the village of Chambolle-Musigny and are harvested by hand. In the cellar, Christophe Roumier relies on traditional vinification: spontaneous fermentation with wild yeasts, careful extraction, and aging in French oak barrels, some of which are new. The 2018 Vintage is radiant and precise, with a perfect balance between fruit and structure.
On the nose, a bouquet of red cherries, raspberries, and floral notes—violets and rose petals—unfolds. On the palate, the wine is silky and complex, with fine tannins and a vibrant minerality derived from the appellation's calcareous soils. The finish is long, penetrating, and remarkably fresh. A wine that is already captivating but also possesses decades of aging potential.
