About the manufacturer
Stripes
Rayas is a legendary winery in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, renowned for generations for its exceptional, characterful Wines. The estate follows an unconventional philosophy: while other Châteauneuf producers rely on the classic blend of 13 permitted grape varieties, Rayas focuses on Grenache as its main grape – an approach that requires courage and conviction.
What truly sets Rayas apart is the minimal use of new oak and the deep trust in natural aging. The Wines develop slowly and elegantly, without ever seeming overdone. At Rayas, you'll find a rare balance between power and finesse, between southern French warmth and surprising elegance. The Vintages aren't always lavishly fruity, but rather complex and contemplative – precisely what makes them appealing to connoisseurs who value depth over fleeting trends.
The winery operates with great care and independence. Every bottle reflects this philosophy. At Wine In Time, you'll find Rayas Wines that perfectly embody this quality and authenticity.

The 2007 Châteauneuf-du-Pape from Château Rayas is an icon among Rhône Wines . This legendary estate in the heart of Châteauneuf-du-Pape has focused for generations on pure Grenache – a grape variety that ripens to exceptional finesse here on sandy soils. The 2007 Vintage is considered classic and balanced, with ideal conditions for concentrated, aromatic grapes.
The vinification follows the traditional Rayas philosophy: long maceration, natural yeasts, minimal intervention. The wine matures in old foudres, which lend structure to the Grenache without overpowering the fruit. The result is a wine of fascinating complexity – powerful, but never heavy.
On the nose, the Rayas Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2007 unfolds aromas of dark cherries, garrigue herbs, lavender, and a hint of suede. On the palate, it is rich and intense, with silky tannins that are perfectly integrated. Notes of black olives, peppery spice, and fine minerality lead to an endless, spicy finish. A wine that needs time – and richly rewards it.
At Wine In Time, you can easily order this exceptional Red Wine online. We deliver it quickly and securely to you in Vienna and throughout Austria – so you can soon enjoy this masterpiece.
Serve the Rayas Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2007 at 16–18 degrees Celsius with braised lamb, game dishes, or aged hard cheeses. A wine for special moments.
