Cultivated since 1698, this parcel produces Chardonnay grapes of exceptional concentration and minerality, which Krug vinifies as a single-varietal Blanc de Blancs only in exceptional Vintages.
The 2006 Vintage is considered one of the great classic Champagne Vintages – cool, precise, with a remarkably balanced acidity. Vinification follows the Krug philosophy: fermentation in small oak barrels, malolactic fermentation, and extended lees aging for over ten years before disgorgement. The result is a Champagne of crystalline clarity and incredible depth, which gains even more harmony and longevity in magnum bottles.
The nose reveals a kaleidoscope of white blossoms, fresh brioche, candied lemon, and a delicate chalky minerality.
