About the manufacturer
Quartermaster
Fourrier is a traditional winery from Gevrey-Chambertin in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, dedicated to Pinot Noir for generations. With small parcels in some of Burgundy's finest vineyards – from Gevrey-Chambertin and Griotte-Chambertin to Clos Saint-Jacques – the estate produces Wines of impressive elegance and complexity.
What sets Fourrier apart is its unwavering craftsmanship: The winery works with meticulous care in the vineyards and relies on traditional methods in vinification. You can taste the intense engagement with the terroir in every glass – the Wines display precise minerality, fine tannins, and a natural tension typical of the finest Burgundian Pinot Noirs.
The harvest is selective, yields are deliberately kept low, and intervention is minimal. The result: authentic, age-worthy Wines that honestly reflect the estate and its vineyards. Whether enjoyed young or developed over years, Fourrier Wines impress with their finesse and depth.
At Wine In Time you will find a curated selection of these Burgundy classics, which you will rarely find together in this quality.

Clos Saint Jacques
The Fourrier Clos Saint Jacques 2023 is a Premier Cru from Gevrey-Chambertin, one of the most sought-after vineyards in the Côte de Nuits. Jean-Marie Fourrier is considered one of Burgundy's most sensitive winemakers, producing Wines of exceptional purity with minimal intervention and meticulous craftsmanship. His parcel in the legendary Clos Saint Jacques yields Pinot Noir that combines depth, elegance, and aging potential – a wine for connoisseurs and collectors.
The grapes are hand-harvested, destemmed, and spontaneously fermented. Fourrier employs long maceration at moderate temperatures to extract structure and finesse without masking the fruit. Aging takes place in French oak barrels, with the proportion of new oak deliberately kept low to preserve the terroir's character. The result is a wine that balances power and subtlety.
On the nose, a complex bouquet of aromas unfolds, including dark cherries, wild strawberries, and floral notes, accompanied by delicate spices and a hint of forest floor. On the palate, the 2023 Fourrier Clos Saint Jacques is silky yet firmly structured with tannins, supported by vibrant acidity and mineral depth. The finish is long, precise, and characterized by elegant restraint – a wine that gains in complexity with each passing year.
At Wine In Time, you can conveniently order this exceptional Premier Cru online and receive it within 48 hours in Vienna. Discover Wines from Burgundy as well and browse our Red Wine selection for other rare finds.
Decant the wine one hour before serving at 16–18 °C and serve it with braised venison, coq au vin, or mature Brie de Meaux. A wine that enhances special moments.
