Kellerberg
The FX Pichler Kellerberg Riesling 2023 is one of the outstanding single-vineyard Wines from the Wachau region and comes from the legendary FX Pichler winery in Oberloiben. The Kellerberg vineyard is situated directly above the winery's cellar on steep stone terraces, which lend the Riesling its distinctive minerality and precision. Here, in one of Austria's finest wine regions , vines thrive on primary rock soils that retain heat and receive cool breezes from the Danube – ideal conditions for a Riesling with character.
Franz Xaver Pichler vinifies the Kellerberg with the utmost care: spontaneous fermentation in large wooden casks, extended aging on the fine lees, and absolutely no manipulation. The 2023 Vintage presents itself as youthful and fresh, with a firm structure and an acidity that supports the wine without being overpowering. The aromas are complex without being intrusive – pure Wachau style.
On the nose, aromas of white peach, citrus blossom, and mineral notes of damp stone unfold. On the palate, the FX Pichler Kellerberg 2023 reveals itself as precise and complex: juicy fruit meets saline minerality, supported by vibrant acidity. The finish is long, cool, and imbued with an elegant tension that invites another sip.
At Wine In Time, you can get this exceptional Riesling delivered quickly and securely to your home – even via express delivery in Vienna. Discover our other White Wines and find your next favorite.
Serve the Kellerberg slightly chilled at 10–12 °C with pan-fried char, asparagus with hollandaise sauce, or mature mountain cheese. A wine that also shines on its own and will develop beautifully over the years.
