Les Referts 2022

The Bachelet Monnot Les Referts Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru 2022 is a White Wine of exceptional elegance from one of Burgundy 's most prestigious vineyards. The Bachelet Monnot estate, family-owned for generations, cultivates its parcels with meticulous care, placing particular emphasis on authentic expression of the terroir. Les Referts is situated on the eastern slopes of Puligny-Montrachet and is renowned for its calcareous soils, which impart a distinctive minerality to the Chardonnay.

The grapes for this Bachelet Monnot Les Referts 2022 are hand-harvested and selectively chosen. Vinification takes place traditionally in French oak barrels, where the wine also undergoes malolactic fermentation and matures for approximately twelve months. The proportion of new barrels is deliberately kept moderate so as not to mask the fruit and minerality. This restrained use of oak underscores the winery's philosophy: the terroir speaks for itself.

On the nose, a captivating bouquet of white blossoms, fresh lemons, and a touch of stone fruit unfolds. On the palate, the wine displays crisp acidity, a delicate creaminess, and impressive depth. Nuances of hazelnut, brioche, and salty-mineral notes complement the precise fruit. The finish is long, cool, and vibrant – a classic Puligny with great aging potential.
