About the manufacturer
Littorai
Littorai is a Californian winery specializing in the production of high-quality Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays. The name comes from Latin and means "coastline"—a reference to the maritime terroirs of California's coastal regions that the winery utilizes.
What makes Littorai special is its uncompromising focus on single-vineyard Wines. Instead of mass production, the winery relies on intensive collaboration with select vineyards such as Hirsch Vineyard or Charles Heintz Vineyard. These partnerships allow them to authentically express the unique characteristics of each site.
The winemaker behind Littorai follows a purist approach: minimal intervention in the cellar, natural fermentation, and respectful treatment of the raw materials. The result is Wines of impressive elegance, complexity, and aging potential. In every glass, you can recognize the terroir's signature and the meticulous craftsmanship.
At Wine In Time you will find a carefully curated selection of Littorai Wines that will transport you to the fascinating world of Californian coastal terroirs.

Richardson Ranch
Littorai is one of California's leading wineries when it comes to world-class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Founded by Ted Lemon, one of the first Americans to work as a winemaker in Burgundy, the winery combines French influences with the unique terroir of the Sonoma Coast . The Richardson Ranch is located right on the coast, where fog and maritime coolness contribute to a long, slow ripening process.
The vineyard is cultivated biodynamically, fully in keeping with Littorai's philosophy of giving the soil time and respect. In the cellar, spontaneous fermentation, gentle extraction, and aging in French oak barrels are employed, giving the wine structure without sacrificing its freshness. The result is a Pinot Noir that harmonizes power and delicacy.
The nose reveals aromas of red cherries, wild berries, and a hint of undergrowth, accompanied by delicate spice notes and a touch of smoke. On the palate, the 2023 Vintage unfolds with a silky yet dense texture, fine acidity, ripe tannins, and a spicy minerality reminiscent of its windswept coastal location. The finish is long and elegant, carrying the fruit flavors to the very last sip.
