About the manufacturer
Kapcsandy Family Winery
Kapcsandy Family Winery is a small, family-run winery in California's Napa Valley, specializing in powerful, characterful Cabernet Sauvignons. The winery follows a philosophy that combines European craftsmanship with California's fruit-forward character – without falling into the overripe trap that plagues many large Napa producers.
What makes Kapcsandy special is its consistent focus on minimal intervention in the cellar and maximum vineyard quality. The family works with old vines and low yields to achieve complexity and depth. The Robertas Reserve, named after the winery's namesake, is the flagship wine – a blend from the best vineyard sites that demonstrates structure, elegance, and exceptional aging potential year after year.
At Kapcsandy, you'll find Wines that don't try to overwhelm you with the first sip, but rather slowly reveal their layers. They are ready to enjoy immediately, but also reward patience in the cellar. At Wine In Time, you gain access to this meticulously crafted quality from Napa, without having to resort to large-scale industrial producers.

Roberta's Reserve
The Kapcsandy Family Winery Robertas Reserve 2012 is among the most outstanding Merlot interpretations from Napa Valley. Founded by Lou Kapcsandy, the winery has quickly achieved cult status through uncompromising quality and meticulous craftsmanship. Named after Lou's wife, Roberta, this reserve embodies pure elegance and depth. The grapes come from prime vineyard sites in California , where the Mediterranean climate guarantees optimal ripening conditions.
The vinification follows traditional methods with state-of-the-art precision: gentle hand-harvesting, temperature-controlled fermentation in French oak barrels, followed by 18 months of aging in new barriques. The result is a wine of impressive structure and complexity. The Kapcsandy Family Winery Robertas Reserve 2012 demonstrates the art of interpreting Merlot at a world-class level.
On the nose, dense aromas of black cherries, cassis, and plums unfold, accompanied by notes of dark chocolate, cedar, and a subtle hint of tobacco. On the palate, the wine is rich and intense: velvety tannins carry layers of ripe berry fruit, spices, and a touch of graphite. The finish is long, elegant, and remarkably finesse.
At Wine In Time, you can conveniently order this exceptional wine online and have it delivered to Vienna – with express delivery for special moments. Discover our selection of Red Wines, including other rare finds.
