About the manufacturer
Benjamin Leroux
Benjamin Leroux is a renowned Burgundy winemaker whose Wines redefine the region's classic potential. With vineyards in the finest locations from Gevrey-Chambertin to Nuits-Saint-Georges, Leroux creates Pinot Noirs that perfectly balance elegance and power. His philosophy is based on minimalist winemaking and the utmost respect for the grapes – the terroir should speak, not the winemaker.
Benjamin Leroux's Wines are characterized by their finesse: you'll find intense, yet never over-extracted aromas, silky tannins, and that iconic minerality that underlies great Burgundies. His access to Premier Cru parcels like Les Caillerets and Rugiens Hauts is particularly noteworthy – vineyards that, in his hands, reveal their full complexity.
What also distinguishes Leroux is his sustainable approach: he experiments intelligently with new methods while remaining rooted in tradition. His Grand Crus, such as Échezeaux, demonstrate that he possesses not only the finesse but also the depth that great Burgundies require.
At Wine In Time you gain access to these exceptional Wines that authentically capture the soul of Burgundy – perfect for those who appreciate serious, elegant structure.

Rugiens Hauts
The Benjamin Leroux Rugiens Hauts 2023 comes from one of Pommard's most prestigious Premier Cru vineyards in Burgundy . Benjamin Leroux is considered one of the region's most innovative winemakers – he vinifies with precision, respect for the terroir, and a fine sense of balance. The Rugiens parcels are situated on a gentle slope, where calcareous soils impart exceptional structure and depth to the Pinot Noir.
The grapes for this Benjamin Leroux Rugiens Hauts 2023 were carefully hand-harvested, spontaneously fermented, and aged with minimal intervention. The wine matured in French oak barrels, which impart spice and complexity without masking the delicate fruit aromas. Leroux employs gentle extraction to preserve the typical elegance of Pinot Noir without sacrificing concentration.
On the nose, a dense bouquet of dark cherries, blackberries, and a hint of violets unfolds. Subtle smoke, graphite, and a touch of forest floor complete the aromatic profile. On the palate, the Benjamin Leroux Rugiens Hauts Premier Cru 2023 is powerful yet elegantly structured with velvety tannins and vibrant acidity. The finish is long and mineral, with lingering fruit and a hint of spice and stone.
