The Franz Hirtzberger Singerriedel 2010 is a Smaragd Riesling from the legendary Wachau region, which develops its full complexity after more than a decade of bottle aging. The vines are rooted in weathered bedrock, which gives the wine its characteristic minerality.
The vinification follows classic Wachau tradition: spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel tanks, extended lees contact, and no fining. The Smaragd status guarantees a robust, dry wine with a minimum of 12,5 percent alcohol – this 2010 Vintage boasts a substantial 13 percent. The aging process has added another layer to the wine without sacrificing its youthful freshness.
On the nose, the 2010 Franz Hirtzberger Singerriedel displays green notes of lime and apple peel, accompanied by fine flint and delicate honey nuances.
