About the manufacturer
Leflaive
Leflaive is one of the great wineries of the Burgundy region and is located in the heart of Puligny-Montrachet, the legendary wine village for White Wines. The Leflaive family has shaped the wine culture of this exclusive terroir for generations and is considered the epitome of elegant, mineral Chardonnays.
What makes Leflaive special is its unwavering focus on purity and authenticity. You won't find any overripe, over-oaked Wines at this estate – instead, Chardonnays that honestly reflect their origin. The best vineyards, such as Les Pucelles and Clavoillon, showcase the characteristic minerality and complexity that have made Puligny-Montrachet world-famous. The Bourgogne Blancs from this estate also offer incredible value and are an excellent introduction to the quality of this producer.
The philosophy is based on classic Burgundy methods combined with a modern focus on quality – each Vintage is vinified with great respect for the terroir. The Wines develop beautifully over the years.
At Wine In Time you will find a carefully selected collection of Leflaive Wines, perfect if you want the authenticity of great Wines.

Sous le Dos d'Ane
Buying the Leflaive Sous le Dos d'Ane 2020 means securing one of Burgundy's most exceptional Chardonnays. Domaine Leflaive in Puligny-Montrachet is one of the region's absolute icons – its Burgundy Wines are prized worldwide for their precision and elegance. The Sous le Dos d'Ane Premier Cru vineyard is situated on the hillside above the village, where limestone and clay soils give the Chardonnay its distinctive signature.
The vinification follows the estate's biodynamic philosophy. Hand-harvesting, spontaneous fermentation with natural yeasts, and up to 18 months of aging in French barriques – including a moderate proportion of new barrels – shape the complex structure of this Premier Cru. The Leflaive Sous le Dos d'Ane 2020 combines Burgundian depth with impeccable balance.
On the nose, a bouquet of ripe stone fruits, hazelnut, and delicate brioche notes unfolds. The palate reveals the buttery texture of the 2020 Vintage, accompanied by mineral freshness, white blossoms, and a hint of vanilla. The finish is long, juicy, and crystalline – a Chardonnay that is already enchanting but can also age for years to come.
At Wine In Time, you can get this rare Premier Cru with express delivery to Vienna and all of Austria. Discover our selection of White Wines, including other Burgundian rarities. Order the Leflaive Sous le Dos d'Ane 2020 online and experience Puligny-Montrachet at its finest.
