Suchots 2020

Buying the Jean Grivot Suchots 2020 means bringing home a Premier Cru from Vosne-Romanée that embodies Burgundian craftsmanship at its finest. The Jean Grivot estate is one of the most prestigious in Burgundy , vinifying Pinot Noir with unparalleled precision for generations. The Suchots vineyard lies directly between Grands Échézeaux and Richebourg – a privileged location that is reflected in the wine.

The grapes for the Jean Grivot Suchots 2020 come from vines over 60 years old, whose roots reach deep into the calcareous soils. After careful hand-harvesting and temperature-controlled fermentation, the wine matures for 18 months in French oak barrels, approximately 30 percent of which are new. This balanced oak aging gives the Premier Cru structure without masking its delicate fruit.

On the nose, a bouquet of dark cherries, wild berries, and violets unfolds, accompanied by delicate spice notes and a subtle hint of smoke. On the palate, the 2020 Jean Grivot Suchots is robust and classic: silky texture, precise tannin structure, and vibrant acidity. The finish is long, mineral, and remarkably deep – a wine that can age for years to come.
