About the manufacturer
Vega Sicilia
Vega Sicilia is the flagship of Spanish wine culture and one of the most prestigious wineries in the world. Located in the Ribera del Duero region, the estate has been making wine history since 1864 and is considered a pioneer of the Spanish quality wine movement.
What makes Vega Sicilia special is its unwavering philosophy of perfection above all else. The vineyards are cultivated with meticulous craftsmanship, and the grapes are only harvested for wine in exceptional years. The legendary Cuvée Unico perfectly embodies this philosophy: a powerful, complex Red Wine that blends Tempranillo with international grape varieties and is aged in American oak. The resulting elegance and structure make Unico a classic, developed and refined over decades.
The Reserve Especiale releases are particularly interesting for collectors – limited bottlings that showcase rare Vintages in a new light. At Vega Sicilia, you're not paying for a name, but for craftsmanship, history, and the taste of a winemaking legend. At Wine In Time, you'll find authentic Vega Sicilia Wines that reflect the exceptional quality of this estate.

The Vega Sicilia Unico Reserva Especial Release 2024 is a carefully composed blend of the 2010, 2011, and 2012 Vintages – a tradition that Vega Sicilia only maintains in exceptional years. Originating from the legendary winery in Castilla y León, this wine from Castilla y León embodies the essence of Spanish winemaking at its finest.
The vinification follows the estate's strict standards: Tempranillo grapes from old vines are aged in French and American barriques, followed by extended bottle aging. This time-intensive process gives the Vega Sicilia Unico Reserva Especial its distinctive complexity and depth. Each Vintage contributes its own personality – 2010 the structure, 2011 the elegance, 2012 the richness.
On the nose, layers of dark fruit, cedar, tobacco, and subtle spice notes unfold. The palate reveals a perfect balance of concentrated fruit, silky tannins, and vibrant acidity, which lends the wine its impressive length. The finish is endless, characterized by elegant minerality and an almost meditative tranquility.
At Wine In Time Vienna, you can buy the Vega Sicilia Unico Reserva Especial Release 2024 and have it delivered to your home via express delivery. Also, discover our selection of Red Wines, including other rare Vintages.
Decant it at least two hours before serving and serve at 16–18°C with roast duck, venison, or aged Manchego cheese. A wine that makes history.
