The Hennessy Very Special This is the iconic cognac from the House of Hennessy, one of the oldest and most prestigious distilleries in the Cognac region. For over 250 years, Hennessy has stood for the highest level of craftsmanship and quality – this VS embodies the classic Hennessy style in its most approachable form. The blend combines over 40 different eaux-de-vie, primarily from the Fins Bois and Bois Ordinaires appellations, which are aged for at least two years in French oak barrels.
The vinification follows traditional methods: After double distillation in copper pot stills, the distillates are aged in Limousin oak barrels, where they slowly gain complexity and character. The Master Blender composes a harmonious cuvée from this diversity, uniting freshness and depth – a balancing act that reflects the Hennessy heritage.
On the nose, spicy oak notes unfold, accompanied by ripe fruit and subtle vanilla aromas. On the palate, the Hennessy Very Special is powerful yet smooth: nuances of roasted almonds, honey, and a hint of pepper meld into a well-rounded flavor profile. The finish is medium-long, warm, and pleasantly sweet.
