Ernst Triebaumer winery and its Mariental valley

Ernst Triebaumer is one of Burgenland's most influential winemakers. His Blaufränkisch from the Mariental vineyard, in particular, has made him famous far beyond Rust.

The Triebaumer family has been in Rust since 1691, and wine has been their focus ever since. They offer not only wine, but also other gourmet products. Of particular importance is their connection to the origin of the land and the natural cultivation of the soil and plants. Here, you can taste that the full potential of the soil is realized in every single sip.

By maturing primarily in wooden barrels, ranging from 300 to 5.000 liters, in their traditional cellars, the young Wines are allowed to develop without any intervention. This results in the tightly woven and impressive product that we enjoy drinking so much.

Diversity creates stability in the ecosystem, which fully benefits the vines and the grapes ripening on them. These growing conditions for the grapes, determining the perfect harvest time, selective hand-harvesting with the highest standards, and natural yeasts form the basis for a vinification process that relies on craftsmanship, time, and innate trust, producing Wines brimming with vitality and individuality that will last for decades.

With all their work, the family lays the foundation for wine that allows the full spectrum of Rust's soils and the respective grape varieties – especially Blaufränkisch – to be experienced sip by sip, unadulterated, with all their inner tension, structure and depth.
