The Paul Achs winery is one of the leading wine producers in Austria. It is located in Gols , in sunny Burgenland , a region known for its diverse soils, excellent vineyard sites, and mild climate around Lake Neusiedl.
Biodynamic viticulture with tradition
Since 1991, Paul Achs has been producing high-quality Wines – with a clear focus on Red Wine . The family winery is now in its third generation and operates biodynamically and sustainably . Every step in the vineyard follows the natural rhythm. The grapes are harvested by hand , and intervention in the cellar is minimal. This results in authentic Wines with character.
Focus on Blaufränkisch & more
The winery is primarily known for its Red Wines . The Blaufränkisch from the Spiegel and Ungerberg vineyards, in particular , stands for elegance and finesse. These Wines are light, delicately structured , and more reminiscent of Burgundy than of powerful fruit bombs. The Zweigelt and St. Laurent also exhibit depth, precision, and great aging potential.
Terroir of Lake Neusiedl
Thanks to the Pannonian climate and the proximity to Lake Neusiedl, the grapes ripen slowly and evenly. This results in balanced, complex Wines of high quality. Whether it's the calcareous soils of the Spiegel vineyard , the minerality of the Altenberg , or the power of the Ungerberg – each site brings its own unique style to the bottle.
Awards & international recognition
Paul Achs' Wines regularly receive top ratings in magazines such as Falstaff , Wine Advocate , and Vinous . They are among the best Austrian Red Wines and are popular with sommeliers, collectors, and wine lovers worldwide.
