About the manufacturer
Sine Qua Non
Sine Qua Non is a California winery from Paso Robles, renowned for its unconventional and extremely limited productions. The founder and winemaker follows a radical philosophy: each bottle is a work of art, each Vintage an experiment with its own name and often its own design.
You won't find any standard Wines here. Sine Qua Non works with unusual grape blends and boldly experiments with vinification and style. Wines like "The Hated Hunter" or "Kolibri" are an expression of this artistic freedom – intense, complex, and often polarizing. The winery deliberately produces in tiny quantities, making these Wines highly sought-after collector's items.
Quality is non-negotiable. Despite the playful approach, the Wines produced possess great depth and aging potential, offering a unique interpretation of the Californian terroir. Each bottling tells a story and challenges you to reconsider your expectations of taste.
At Wine In Time you will find a curated selection of these rare treasures – for all those who dare to drink beyond the ordinary.

The Sine Qua Non B20 2008 is one of those legendary Californian Wines that makes collectors' hearts beat faster. Manfred Krankl, the visionary behind Sine Qua Non, creates strictly limited, unique Wines year after year in the hills of California, which are sought after worldwide. The B20 2008 comes from an exceptional Vintage and represents pure Syrah at its finest – uncompromising, full of character, and unforgettable.
The grapes for the Sine Qua Non B20 2008 were hand-picked and vinified with the utmost care. Krankl's philosophy eschews formulas: each Vintage is treated individually, nature dictates the rhythm. The B20 matured in French oak barrels, developing a remarkable structural complexity that clearly distinguishes it from ordinary Syrahs.
On the nose, an intoxicating symphony of dark fruits unfolds – blackberry, blackcurrant, plum – accompanied by notes of roasted spices, tobacco, and a hint of wild herbs. On the palate, the wine reveals its full power: a velvety, dense texture, perfectly integrated tannins, and a vibrant freshness that, despite its opulence, provides balance. The finish is endless, mineral, and characterized by remarkable precision.
