The Henri Boillot Cailleret's Volnay Premier Cru 2022 This is Pinot Noir in its finest, most aromatic form. Henri Boillot, one of the most respected winemakers of the BurgundyCultivated in the Premier Cru vineyard of Caillerets in the heart of Volnay, these vines are among the most elegant in the Côte de Beaune. The calcareous, stony soils and the perfect southeast exposure give this wine its distinctive finesse.
The vinification follows the traditions of the Boillot estate: selective hand-harvesting, gentle fermentation in open wooden vessels, and careful aging in French barriques, about a third of which are new. Despite the climatic challenges, the 2022 Vintage proves to be a triumph of craftsmanship – concentrated, fresh, and balanced.
On the nose, the 2022 Henri Boillot Caillerets unfolds a bouquet of ripe cherries, wild strawberries, and delicate violets, underpinned by nuances of white pepper and a hint of forest floor. On the palate, it impresses with a silky texture, fine tannins, and an acidity that guarantees freshness and length. The finish is elegant, mineral, almost ethereal – a wine that is understated yet speaks volumes.
