The Nittnaus Anita and Hans Comondor 2019 is an impressive Red Wine cuvée made from Blaufränkisch and Merlot, reflecting the terroir of the Leithaberg region. Burgenland with great precision. Anita and Hans Nittnaus masterfully combine the robust power of Blaufränkisch with the silky richness of Merlot – a wine that embodies both structure and elegance.
The grapes come from the best vineyards on the Leithaberg, where calcareous soils and the Pannonian climate create ideal conditions. After selective hand-harvesting, the wine matured in barriques, where it developed its depth and complexity. Vinification was carried out with the utmost care – slow maceration followed by 18 months of aging in wood to refine the aromas without masking the fruit.
On the nose, the 2019 Comondor unfolds dark berry fruit – blackberry, black cherry, plum – accompanied by nuances of chocolate, tobacco, and a subtle spiciness. On the palate, it is powerful and concentrated, with velvety tannins and lively acidity that guarantees freshness and drinkability. The finish is long, mineral, and elegantly tart – a wine that can age for years to come.
