Cos d'Estournel
The 2009 Cos d'Estournel Magnum comes from the renowned Château Cos d'Estournel in Saint-Estèphe, one of the most important wineries in Bordeaux . Founded in 1811, the estate, now a Deuxième Cru Classé, is known for its oriental architecture and its unwavering commitment to quality. The 2009 Vintage is considered one of the best of the century – ripe, concentrated, and perfectly balanced. The magnum bottle allows for a slower, more harmonious maturation, making this wine a special experience for connoisseurs and collectors.
The blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc matured for 18 months in new French oak barrels. The exact blend is a closely guarded secret of the estate, yet the signature style remains unmistakable: precision, depth, and elegance. The winery is committed to organic viticulture and minimalist cellar techniques to bring the authentic character of the terroir to the glass.
On the nose, an opulent bouquet of blackcurrants, cassis, dark chocolate, and cedar unfolds. Nuances of graphite, tobacco, and delicate spices lend the wine complexity. On the palate, the 2009 Cos d'Estournel is powerful yet elegant: silky tannins, perfect acidity, and tremendous length. Black fruits meld with mineral notes and a hint of licorice. The finish is endless, vibrant, with a fine freshness that invites another sip.
