About the manufacturer
Louis Roederer
Louis Roederer is one of the world's most traditional and independent champagne houses – based in Reims since 1776 and still family-owned today. This makes the brand truly special in an industry dominated by corporations.
The house is renowned for its perfection and distinctive style. Louis Roederer cultivates its own vineyards, thus controlling the entire value chain and guaranteeing consistently high quality. The legendary Cuvée Cristal, originally created for the Russian Tsar, is proof of this: it is considered one of the world's finest champagnes, distinguished by its elegance, complexity, and aging potential.
You can recognize Louis Roederer champagne by its precise acidity, subtle dosage, and harmonious balance between power and finesse. Whether Cristal Brut or Cristal Brut Rosé – every bottle reflects the house philosophy: quality over quantity, craftsmanship over trends.
At Wine In Time you will find a curated selection of these great champagnes and benefit from expert advice from true connoisseurs.

The Louis Roederer Cristal Brut 2012 is the legendary cuvée from Champagne , considered the epitome of perfection since 1876. The six-liter magnum bottle underscores the exclusivity of this exceptional Champagne. Louis Roederer practices biodynamic viticulture and selects only Grand Cru grapes from the finest vineyards for the Cristal. The 2012 Vintage combines 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay into a composition of rare harmony.
Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, partly in oak barrels. The Cristal matures on the lees for at least six years, which gives it its unparalleled creaminess and complexity. The dosage is deliberately kept low at around 8 g/l so as not to mask the purity of the terroir. Each bottle is filled by hand and wrapped in golden cellophane – protection from light and a symbol of absolute craftsmanship.
On the nose, the Louis Roederer Cristal Brut 2012 unfolds delicate aromas of white peach, citrus blossom, and roasted hazelnuts. On the palate, it displays captivating precision: a silky texture, carried by vibrant freshness and mineral depth. Notes of brioche, honeydew melon, and mandarin orange meld into a multi-layered taste experience. The finish is long, cool, and characterized by a saline elegance.
