Fleurie Clos Vernay
The Michel Lafarge Fleurie Clos Vernay 2023 is a tribute to the finesse of Gamay and the elegance of Beaujolais. The renowned Lafarge winery, known for its great Pinot Noirs from Burgundy , vinifies this rare wine from one of Fleurie's finest vineyards – Clos Vernay. Here, the Gamay grape thrives on granite soil, which imparts the wine with its characteristic minerality and depth.
The wine is produced according to traditional Burgundian methods: gentle whole-cluster fermentation, natural yeasts, and no fining. The wine matures in old wooden barrels, which give it structure without overpowering its vibrant fruit. This respectful approach to the terroir has distinguished the Lafarge winery for generations.
On the nose, the Michel Lafarge Fleurie Clos Vernay 2023 reveals seductive aromas of cherry, raspberry, and delicate floral notes. On the palate, it unfolds a silky texture, supported by fine acidity and subtle spice. Granitic minerality lends it length and precision. The finish is elegant, fresh, and exceptionally drinkable.
At Wine In Time, you can conveniently order this exceptional Red Wine online and benefit from express delivery in Vienna. We bring Burgundian wine artistry directly to your door.
Serve it slightly chilled at 14–16 °C with roasted poultry, duck breast, or mature soft cheeses. A wine that demonstrates the elegance that Gamay can possess.
