Grange 1998

Buying a 1998 Penfolds Grange means putting one of Australia's most legendary Red Wines in your glass – a Shiraz that has made wine history and comes from South Australia , where perfect conditions prevail for powerful, age-worthy Wines. The Penfolds winery is considered a New World icon, and the Grange is its flagship: a wine that has delighted critics and collectors alike for decades. The 1998 Vintage impresses with its mature elegance and impressively demonstrates how well this wine has aged over the years.

The 1998 Penfolds Grange is vinified according to traditional Penfolds style: grapes from the best Shiraz vineyards in South Australia are carefully selected, fermented, and then aged in new American oak barrels. This intensive contact with the wood gives the wine its characteristic structure without overpowering the fruit. The result is a wine of enormous depth and complexity that still seems youthful and vibrant even after more than two decades.

On the nose, dense aromas of ripe blackberries, black cherries, and plums unfold, accompanied by delicate notes of cedar, vanilla, chocolate, and a hint of eucalyptus. On the palate, the 1998 Penfolds Grange is powerful yet silky, with perfectly integrated tannins that combine structure and elegance. The long, lingering finish is carried by spices, dark chocolate, and a subtle minerality – a truly delightful taste experience.
