The 2017 Château de Beaucastel Hommage à Jacques Perrin is among the most exceptional Wines of the Southern Rhône. This tribute is produced only in exceptional Vintages from the oldest parcels of the legendary estate in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The grapes for the 2017 Château de Beaucastel Hommage à Jacques Perrin come from ungrafted Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Syrah vines, some over 100 years old. Hand-harvesting, strict selection, and spontaneous fermentation in wooden barrels form the basis for this monumental wine. After vinification, the cuvée matures for 18 months in large foudres, where it develops its impressive complexity and structure. The limited production makes this wine a true rarity.
On the nose, intense aromas of dark berries, black cherry, graphite, and Provençal herbs unfold, underpinned by delicate notes of tobacco and truffle. On the palate, the wine presents itself with tremendous depth, silky tannins, and a perfect balance between power and finesse.
