About the manufacturer
FX Pichler
FX Pichler is one of the Wachau's top wineries and represents Riesling of the highest caliber. With its vineyards on the steep slopes of the Danube, this Austrian winery has been producing Wines of impressive minerality and elegance for generations. Vineyards like Steinertal and Kellerberg are classics that demonstrate just how magnificent Austrian Riesling can be – powerful, precise, and with a saline minerality that instantly transports you to the Wachau.
What makes FX Pichler special is the combination of tradition and precision. The grapes are selectively harvested, and fermentation occurs spontaneously with wild yeasts – resulting in Wines of incredible depth and complexity. The characteristic FX Pichler style is dry, mineral, and age-worthy, without sacrificing elegance. You won't find overripe or over-extracted Wines here, but rather purism in the truest sense.
With 26 products in our range, you can explore the full spectrum of this winery – from classic single-vineyard Wines to experimental cuvées. At Wine In Time, you get authentic Wachau classics from a producer who has maintained unwavering standards for decades.

Kellerberg
The FX Pichler Kellerberg Grüner Veltliner 2023 is among the most distinctive Wines from the Wachau region and embodies the signature style of a winery that has been setting standards for decades. Franz Xaver Pichler vinifies a Grüner Veltliner on the steep, primary rock terraces of the Kellerberg vineyard, a wine that perfectly balances power and elegance. The site, located between Loiben and Dürnstein, is one of the most characterful terroirs in the Wachau and imparts a cool minerality to the wine.
The grapes ripen on weathered gneiss and amphibolite, are carefully hand-harvested, and spontaneously fermented. Aging in large wooden barrels allows the wine time to develop its structure without masking the fruit. FX Pichler deliberately avoids fining, giving the Kellerberg wine the authenticity that makes it unique.
On the nose, green spices: nettle, mint, green pepper, along with delicate citrus notes and a hint of white blossoms. On the palate, taut and dense, with a salty minerality and a lively interplay between fruit and stone. The finish is long and cool, with fine flint and herbal freshness – a wine that challenges and rewards you in equal measure.
At Wine In Time, you can conveniently order the FX Pichler Kellerberg 2023 online and receive it via express delivery to Vienna and throughout Austria. Discover our selection of White Wines, including other rare Vintages from the Wachau region.
