Lafite Rothschild 1988

The 1988 Lafite Rothschild from Château Lafite Rothschild is a Premier Grand Cru Classé from Bordeaux , specifically from the renowned Pauillac appellation on the left bank of the Gironde estuary. The château is one of the five First Growths of the 1855 Bordeaux classification and enjoys the highest international acclaim. The 1988 Vintage is considered classic and age-worthy – a wine that has gained complexity and finesse through maturation.

The blend consists primarily of Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The grapes come from the estate's finest parcels, and vinification was carried out traditionally with extended maceration and aging in French oak barrels. This meticulous work in the vineyard and cellar gives the 1988 Lafite Rothschild its distinctive elegance and depth.

The nose reveals a complex bouquet of ripe dark berries, cedar, tobacco, and subtle spice notes. On the palate, the wine impresses with its silky texture, harmoniously integrated tannins, and a robust, classic structure. The finish is long, complex, and characterized by elegant minerality – a true masterpiece of maturity.
