About the manufacturer
Leoville Las Cases
Léoville Las Cases is one of Saint-Julien's great Second Growths in the Médoc and is considered the estate's flagship. The château cultivates 97 hectares on one of the region's finest terroirs – gravelly soils with a clay subsoil, perfect for elegant, structured Cabernet Sauvignon.
What makes Leoville Las Cases special is its relentless pursuit of perfection. The winery relies on traditional methods combined with modern knowledge: long fermentations, meticulous selection, and aging in French oak barrels. The style is classic and timeless – powerful, but never over-extracted. You immediately recognize the signature of the estate: balance, elegance, and the potential for decades of aging.
The Wines of Château Léoville are fuller-bodied than many other Saint-Julien Wines, with a pronounced Cabernet Sauvignon character, fine tannins, and a complexity that unfolds over the years. Whether enjoyed young or after 15 or 20 years, Léoville Las Cases displays depth and development.
At Wine In Time you will find a curated selection from this legendary house, chosen for genuine taste and quality rather than marketing.

The 2005 Léoville Las Cases from the legendary Château in Saint-Julien embodies Bordeaux winemaking at its finest. This jewel of Bordeaux wine comes from an exceptional Vintage, now reaching its perfect drinking maturity. The magnum bottle guarantees optimal aging conditions and extended shelf life.
The blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc was vinified with the utmost precision. After selective hand-harvesting, the Wines matured for 18 months in French oak barrels, allowing the fruit and oak to blend harmoniously. The terroir of Saint-Julien, with its gravelly soils, lends this Grand Cru Classé its characteristic minerality and structure.
On the nose, the 2005 Léoville Las Cases unfolds aromas of blackcurrants, cedarwood, and fine graphite. On the palate, it is powerful yet elegant, with silky tannins and impressive length. The finish lingers for minutes, with notes of dark chocolate and spicy accents.
