Les Charmes Cuvee de Bahezre de Lanlay 2023

The Hospices de Beaune Domaine de Montille Les Charmes Cuvée de Bahèzre de Lanlay 2023 is a Premier Cru Chardonnay from the legendary Les Charmes vineyard in Meursault, Burgundy . This auction wine from the Hospices de Beaune is vinified by the renowned Domaine de Montille estate – a combination of humanitarian tradition and oenological mastery. The 3-liter magnum ensures a slower, more harmonious maturation, making this wine a unique collector's item.

The grapes come from the privileged Premier Cru vineyard Les Charmes, whose chalky subsoil imparts its characteristic minerality to the Chardonnay. Vinification takes place in French oak barrels, with some barrique aging adding structure and depth without overpowering its Burgundian finesse. Despite its youth, the 2023 Vintage is already remarkably approachable.

On the nose, a bouquet of white peach, citrus blossom, and roasted hazelnuts unfolds, underpinned by cool chalky minerality. On the palate, the 2023 Hospices de Beaune Domaine de Montille Les Charmes Cuvée de Bahèzre de Lanlay presents a silky texture, lively acidity, and notes of pear, butter, and a hint of vanilla. The finish is long, precise, and laced with a saline minerality.
