Les Chaumes 2023

The Meo Camuzet Les Chaumes 2023 is a Premier Cru from the heart of the Côte de Nuits, precisely vinified in the legendary Meo Camuzet cellar. The estate is one of the undisputed names in Burgundy , and this Pinot Noir from the Les Chaumes vineyard in Vosne-Romanée shows why: clear expression, finesse without bulk, structure without harshness.

The grapes come from a plot with barren soils where limestone and clay are mixed. Short maceration, careful handling of whole berries, aging in barriques – Jean-Nicolas Méo allows the wine space to speak for itself. No oak varnish, no fruit bombs. Just origin in a bottle.

On the nose, dark cherry unfolds with a hint of undergrowth, dried blossoms, and a delicate toasty note. On the palate, the 2023 Meo Camuzet Les Chaumes displays silky tannins, fine acidity, and a structure that is already approachable but also has the potential to age for years. The finish is long, spicy, and precise – a Pinot Noir that evokes Burgundian elegance without being over the top.

Serve it at 16–18 °C with braised venison, duck breast with cherries, or mature Comté cheese. A wine that demands – and receives – silence.
