Les Perrieres Puligny-Montrachet
The Yvon Clerget Les Perrieres Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru 2023 comes from one of the most prestigious vineyards in the heart of Burgundy. The Yvon Clerget estate cultivates the steep, stony Les Perrieres site with great care – here, where limestone and mineral-rich soil give the Chardonnay its distinctive character. Burgundy Wines are among the world's finest, and this Premier Cru impressively demonstrates why.
The grapes are hand-harvested and gently pressed. Aging takes place traditionally in French barriques, with Yvon Clerget carefully considering the right amount of oak – the wine should retain its minerality and freshness. Some of the barrels are new, the rest are already used, to guarantee balance and finesse. Malolactic fermentation gives the Yvon Clerget Les Perrieres Puligny-Montrachet 2023 additional depth and a creamy texture.
On the nose, notes of white blossoms, citrus fruits, and a hint of hazelnut unfold. The palate reveals its full class: precise structure, vibrant acidity, and mineral tension. Hints of green apple, pear, and smooth butter mingle with a salty, stony spice. The finish is long, elegant, and remarkably pure.
