Mongeard Mugneret
The 2006 Mongeard Mugneret Les Suchots is an exceptional Premier Cru from Vosne-Romanée, bearing the signature of one of Burgundy's most traditional wineries. The Mongeard-Mugneret family has cultivated top vineyards in the Côte de Nuits for generations and has established a reputation for Wines of great precision and longevity. Les Suchots is among the finest Premier Cru vineyards in Vosne-Romanée – situated just below the legendary Grands Crus of Richebourg and Romanée-Saint-Vivant.
The Pinot Noir grapes for this wine grew on calcareous soils, which impart minerality and structure. Vinification was carried out traditionally with extended maceration and aging in French oak barrels, giving the wine depth and complexity. The 2006 Vintage is considered classically elegant in Burgundy – not an opulent fruit bomb, but a wine with backbone and finesse.
On the nose, a bouquet of red cherries, forest floor, delicate tobacco, and a hint of clove unfolds. On the palate, the Mongeard Mugneret Les Suchots 2006 is silky yet precise, with fine tannins and lively acidity. Notes of ripe raspberries, mushrooms, and a mineral freshness carry through to the long, elegant finish.
At Wine In Time you'll find excellent Red Wines from all over the world – with express delivery to Vienna and throughout Austria. This Burgundy is a rarity that will delight lovers of sophisticated Pinot Noir.
Decant the wine one hour before serving and serve at 16–18 °C. It pairs wonderfully with duck breast, braised beef or aged Comté cheese.
