About the manufacturer
Chateau d'Esclans
Château d'Esclans is a winery from Provence that has made an international name for itself as a pioneer of high-quality rosé Wines. Under the leadership of Sacha Lichine, the winery has broken free from the classic Provençal image and demonstrates that rosé can be far more than a light summer wine – namely, a full-bodied, seriously vinified wine with complexity and aging potential.
Château d'Esclans' philosophy is based on quality over quantity. You notice this immediately in their Wines: while many rosé producers focus on light, fruity Wines, these Wines delve into depth. They are more intense, mineral, and impress with their elegance. The portfolio ranges from the refreshing Whispering Angel to the more powerful Rock Angel and The Pale – a wine that demonstrates that Provence rosé also pairs well with dishes like fish and poultry.
This winery represents a new generation of rosé Wines that appeal to purists and connoisseurs alike. The Wines are classically elegant, precisely crafted, and full of character. At Wine In Time, you'll find a carefully curated selection of these exceptional Provence rosé Wines.

Rock Angel
The Chateau d'Esclans Rock Angel 2023 is an impressive magnum interpretation of what Provençal Wines at their finest represent. The legendary Chateau d'Esclans, under the leadership of Sacha Lichine, has revolutionized rosé wine culture, and with the Rock Angel, they prove that Provençal rosé is far more than just a summer drink. The 1,5-liter bottle underscores the celebratory character of this exceptional wine.
The blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre comes from old vines growing in calcareous soils. The grapes are hand-harvested at the coolest moment of the night to preserve maximum freshness. Partial aging takes place in French oak barrels, which gives Rock Angel its characteristic complexity and silky texture – a rarity in the world of rosé.
On the nose, an enchanting bouquet of white peach, grapefruit, and delicate rose petals unfolds, accompanied by a hint of mandarin and brioche. On the palate, the Chateau d'Esclans Rock Angel 2023 is crystal clear and elegant, with precise structure and vibrant acidity. Notes of raspberry and strawberry meld with mineral accents. The finish is lingering, refreshing, and impressively long – a rosé with genuine aging potential.
At Wine In Time in Vienna, you can get this Provençal classic delivered directly to your door with express shipping. Also, explore our selection of rosé Wines and be inspired by the variety.
Serve the Rock Angel well chilled at 8–10°C with grilled tuna, bouillabaisse, sushi, or creamy lemon pasta. It's also the perfect accompaniment to a summer lunch with friends – the magnum adds a festive touch.
