Steinertal
The FX Pichler Steinertal Grüner Veltliner 2023 is a tribute to the stony terraces of the Wachau region, where Franz Xaver Pichler is considered one of the absolute masters of his craft. The vines root in the Steinertal valley on primary rock soils, which lend the wine its distinctive minerality and depth. Wines of this caliber from Austria are rare – this Grüner Veltliner is among the very best.
Vinification follows classic Pichler methods: spontaneous fermentation in large wooden barrels, slow aging on the fine lees, zero compromises. The result is a wine with a clear structure, without any excess. Cool elegance instead of loud fruit – this is how the terroir speaks.
On the nose, you'll find aromas of yellow stone fruit, fresh citrus peel, and a hint of white pepper. On the palate, the 2023 Steinertal is taut and vibrant, with fine acidity, saline minerality, and a harmonious interplay of fruit and spice. The finish is long, cool, almost smoky – a wine that lingers.
Wine In Time brings this cult wine directly to your door – in Vienna, even via express delivery. Our White Wine selection includes the best vineyards in Austria, and FX Pichler is at the top of the list.
Serve the Steinertal slightly chilled at 10–12 °C with pan-fried pike-perch, veal schnitzel, or creamy risotto. A wine for special moments – order it now from Wine In Time.
