Dürnsteiner
The FX Pichler Dürnsteiner 2024 is an exceptional Grüner Veltliner from one of the Wachau's most prestigious wineries. Franz Xaver Pichler is among the very best of Austrian winemakers, and this Dürnsteiner impressively demonstrates why. The grapes come from vineyards surrounding the picturesque village of Dürnstein, where primary rock soils and steep terraces create optimal growing conditions. This wine holds a special place in our selection of Austrian Wines .
At FX Pichler, vinification adheres to strict quality standards: spontaneous fermentation with natural yeasts, gentle pressing, and aging on the fine lees in large wooden barrels. The FX Pichler Dürnsteiner 2024 thus develops its characteristic complexity without sacrificing freshness. The result is a wine of impressive clarity and precision.
On the nose, aromas of yellow stone fruits, fresh citrus, and a hint of white pepper unfold – the typical Grüner Veltliner spiciness. On the palate, the wine is both juicy and structured, with lively acidity and a mineral salinity derived from the ancient bedrock of the Wachau. The finish is long, elegant, and leaves a lasting impression.
