Vina Tondonia Reserva 2010

The Lopez Heredia Viña Tondonia Reserva 2010 is a monument to classic Rioja winemaking. The Lopez de Heredia winery is one of the oldest and most traditional estates in Haro, cultivating the Viña Tondonia vineyard with unparalleled dedication since 1877. Here, on the banks of the Ebro River, they produce Rioja Wines characterized by exceptional aging and meticulous craftsmanship.

The Viña Tondonia Reserva 2010 matures for ten years using traditional methods: at least six years in American oak barrels, followed by further bottle aging. Tempranillo forms the backbone, supported by Garnacha, Graciano, and Mazuelo. The grapes come from the single vineyard that gives the wine its name, whose calcareous soils and continental microclimate create ideal conditions. Spontaneous fermentation and manual labor underscore the uncompromising philosophy.

On the nose, aromas of ripe cherries, dried tobacco, leather, and subtle spices unfold. The palate reveals a silky texture with vibrant acidity, elegantly integrated tannins, and a delicate spiciness. The finish is long, complex, and subtly fresh. At Wine In Time, you can find this rare wine with express delivery directly to your door in Vienna.

Decant the wine an hour before serving and serve at 16–18 degrees Celsius. It pairs perfectly with braised lamb, game dishes, or aged Manchego cheese. A Rioja for connoisseurs who appreciate patience and depth.
