The Yvon Clerget Bourgogne Chardonnay 2023 embodies classic Burgundian White Winemaking in its purest form. The traditional Yvon Clerget estate is among the most respected producers in Burgundy , where Chardonnay has been cultivated for centuries. This Bourgogne Blanc comes from carefully selected parcels and reflects the cool elegance of the region.
The vinification follows a time-honored method: after gentle pressing, the must matures in used oak barrels, where it undergoes malolactic fermentation and rests on its fine lees. This traditional aging process lends the wine structure and complexity without masking the fruit. Yvon Clerget deliberately avoids using too much new oak in order to preserve the purity of the grape.
On the nose, the Yvon Clerget Bourgogne Chardonnay 2023 presents delicate notes of green apple, white blossoms, and a hint of brioche. On the palate, it displays fresh citrus aromas, subtle minerality, and a lively acidity that lends it drinkability and elegance. The finish is medium-long, fresh, and harmonious – a wine that impresses not with power, but with finesse.
