About the manufacturer
Sine Qua Non
Sine Qua Non is a California winery from Paso Robles, renowned for its unconventional and extremely limited productions. The founder and winemaker follows a radical philosophy: each bottle is a work of art, each Vintage an experiment with its own name and often its own design.
You won't find any standard Wines here. Sine Qua Non works with unusual grape blends and boldly experiments with vinification and style. Wines like "The Hated Hunter" or "Kolibri" are an expression of this artistic freedom – intense, complex, and often polarizing. The winery deliberately produces in tiny quantities, making these Wines highly sought-after collector's items.
Quality is non-negotiable. Despite the playful approach, the Wines produced possess great depth and aging potential, offering a unique interpretation of the Californian terroir. Each bottling tells a story and challenges you to reconsider your expectations of taste.
At Wine In Time you will find a curated selection of these rare treasures – for all those who dare to drink beyond the ordinary.

Five Shooter
The Sine Qua Non Five Shooter 2010 is a legendary interpretation of Syrah from California's Napa Valley. Manfred Krankl, visionary winemaker and artist, created a masterpiece with this Vintage, embodying the power and finesse of Californian Wines at their finest. Each bottle is limited, each bottling unique – typical of Sine Qua Non, where winemaking becomes an art form.
Vinified from hand-picked Syrah grapes, the Five Shooter matures in French oak barrels. Winemaking is carried out with radical precision: low yields, spontaneous fermentation, minimal intervention. The result is a wine of enormous concentration that nevertheless never feels heavy. Krankl's unconventional approach and his meticulous attention to detail make the Sine Qua Non Five Shooter 2010 an exceptional experience.
The nose reveals an intense bouquet of dark berries, violets, and a hint of black pepper. On the palate, dense fruit unfolds – blackberry, cassis, along with delicate toasty notes and a touch of licorice. The texture is silky, the tannins perfectly integrated, and the finish long and carried by a refreshing minerality that makes the wine vibrate.

Serve this powerful Syrah at 16–18°C with braised lamb, game dishes, or robust beef. It's already magnificent, but can also age for years and will become more complex with each passing year.
