About the manufacturer
Roberto Voerzio
Roberto Voerzio is one of Piedmont's finest Barolo producers, renowned for exceptional quality from the La Morra wine region. For decades, the winery has relied on traditional methods combined with a modern understanding of viticulture – resulting in complex, elegant Barolos with profound character.
What makes Voerzio special: The winery focuses on small, carefully selected parcels in the heart of the Barolo region. The Wines are made from old Nebbiolo vines, vinified with great respect for the terroir, and aged in traditional large wooden casks. This results in Wines with structure, elegance, and impressive aging potential – not the over-extracted, modern Barolos, but authentic classics.
The Riserva RV350, which you'll find in our selection, is a prime example: concentrated, complex, and with that velvety tannin structure that characterizes true Barolo. The single-vineyard Barolos, such as Pozzo dell'Annunziata, also demonstrate just how diverse and multifaceted the Wines of this estate can be.
If you're looking for genuine, classic Barolo Wines that deserve time and patience, you'll find them here – and more.

The Roberto Voerzio Fossati 2019 is an outstanding Nebbiolo from the heart of Piedmont. Roberto Voerzio is considered one of the region's most uncompromising perfectionists, and this wine impressively demonstrates why his name is revered among connoisseurs. The small winery in La Morra operates with minimal yields and meticulous handcraftsmanship – each bottle is an expression of pure dedication. The vines for the Fossati grow on calcareous soils, which give the Nebbiolo its characteristic structure and finesse. You can learn more about this special origin in our Piedmont Wines collection.
The wine is traditionally vinified in wooden barrels, though Voerzio consciously avoids excessive use of oak. This allows the fruit to remain vibrant, while the tannins are perfectly integrated through long maceration periods. Aging lasts over two years – patience that pays off.
The nose reveals a captivating array of aromas: dark cherry, dried rose petals, tobacco, and a subtle herbal spice. On the palate, the wine displays a powerful structure combined with elegance. The tannins are firm yet silky, the acidity provides support and freshness. The long finish leaves behind notes of licorice, leather, and a mineral depth.
At Wine In Time you'll find hand-picked rarities like this Roberto Voerzio with express delivery to Vienna. Explore our entire selection of Red Wines for more exceptional Vintages.
Ideally, serve Fossati at 16–18°C after decanting for about an hour. It pairs perfectly with roast lamb, beef stews, or aged hard cheeses – a wine for special moments.
