La Turque
The Guigal La Turque 2003 is among the most monumental Wines of the Northern Rhône. The legendary single vineyard La Turque lies in the heart of the Côte-Rôtie and produces Syrah grapes of exceptional concentration. The Guigal estate cultivates these steep, south-facing terraces with the utmost care – the vines root deeply in schist and granite soils, which impart the wine's characteristic minerality. Rhône Wines reach their absolute pinnacle here.
The vinification of Guigal La Turque 2003 follows the tradition of great Burgundies: 42 months of aging in new French oak barrels give the wine its unique structure. The exceptional 2003 Vintage, with its warm, dry climate, yielded concentrated grapes at perfect ripeness. The result is a wine of rare power and elegance.
On the nose, an opulent bouquet unfolds, revealing aromas of black olives, roasted espresso, dark chocolate, and a hint of violets. The palate showcases the wine's true greatness: velvety tannins envelop flavors of cassis, truffle, and wild herbs. The finish is virtually endless, carried by subtle spice and a vibrant freshness that effortlessly balances the high alcohol content.
At Wine In Time Vienna, you can get this exceptional wine delivered directly to your door with express shipping. Our Red Wine selection includes other rare Wines from the best vineyards in Europe – ordering online has never been easier.
Decant the Guigal La Turque 2003 at least two hours before serving at 16–18°C. It pairs perfectly with braised lamb, game dishes, or aged hard cheeses. A wine for special moments that can age for decades.
