La Turque
The Guigal La Turque 2010 is an icon of Rhône Wines and comes from the legendary Vintage of the century. The Guigal winery, rooted in Ampuis for generations, cultivates the steep single vineyard La Turque in the Côte-Rôtie with utmost dedication. Here, on weathered schist and iron-rich soil, the Syrah grape unfolds its full aromatic complexity.
The vinification process is traditional: long maceration, gentle extraction, and subsequent 40 months of aging in new oak barrels. This patient maturation gives the wine its silky texture and exceptional aging potential. The 2010 Vintage is considered a perfect balance between power and finesse – a wine that will age for decades to come.
On the nose, a captivating bouquet of blackcurrants, violets, roasted coffee, and a hint of truffle unfolds. On the palate, the Guigal La Turque 2010 is powerful yet elegant: dense tannins, juicy fruit, and spicy notes of pepper and dark chocolate. The finish is impressively long, mineral, and perfectly balanced.
