Cote Rotie La Landonne
The Guigal Côte-Rôtie La Landonne 2003 is among the most iconic Wines of the Northern Rhône. The legendary Guigal estate has cultivated the steep single vineyard of La Landonne for decades with uncompromising precision, crafting a wine of monumental power and structure from 100% Syrah. Rhône Wines are considered worldwide to be the epitome of Burgundian finesse in Red Wine – La Landonne represents the most masculine, iron-rich interpretation of this great appellation.
The 2003 Vintage, marked by a hot summer, produced exceptionally concentrated grapes. Guigal vinifies with extended maceration and ages the wine for over 40 months in new oak barrels. The result: a wine of incredible density that nevertheless never feels heavy. The tannins are firmly integrated, the acidity precise, and the finish seemingly endless.
On the nose, the Guigal Côte Rôtie La Landonne 2003 reveals dark berry fruit, black pepper, roasted meat, and a smoky minerality reminiscent of cold slate. On the palate, a powerful structure unfolds, with notes of cassis, graphite, licorice, and delicate toasty tones. The finish is long, cool, and of aristocratic elegance – a wine that can age for decades.
At Wine In Time in Vienna, you'll find our selection of carefully curated Red Wines, including rare Vintages. Order this exceptional Côte-Rôtie conveniently online and enjoy express delivery straight to your door.
Ideally, serve this wine at 16–18°C with braised lamb, game dishes, or aged hard cheeses. A wine for special moments that will stay with you long after you've finished tasting it.
