Les Combettes
The 2016 Etienne Sauzet Les Combettes is a Premier Cru Chardonnay from one of the most prestigious vineyards in Puligny-Montrachet, in the heart of Burgundy . The Etienne Sauzet estate is renowned for producing precise, mineral-driven White Wines that authentically express the terroir. Les Combettes borders Meursault and combines the elegance of Puligny with the richness of Meursault – a perfect symbiosis.
The Chardonnay grapes were hand-harvested at optimal ripeness in 2016 and vinified in the traditional Burgundian style. Aging took place in French oak barrels, some of which were new. Malolactic fermentation imparts the wine's characteristic creaminess, while contact with the fine lees adds complexity and depth. The 2016 Vintage is characterized by a perfect balance between structure and freshness.
The nose reveals a buttery and complex bouquet with notes of ripe apples, hazelnut, brioche, and a hint of white blossoms. On the palate, a silky, almost creamy texture unfolds, supported by precise minerality and vibrant acidity. Aromas of citrus fruits, roasted almonds, and a delicate hint of vanilla develop layer by layer. The finish is long, elegant, and characterized by mineral freshness.
At Wine In Time in Vienna, you can order this exceptional Premier Cru Chardonnay online and have it delivered to your home via express delivery. Also, discover our entire selection of White Wines from the world's best wine-growing regions.
