About the manufacturer
Domaine Yvon Clerget
Domaine Yvon Clerget is a winery in the heart of Burgundy, focusing on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the finest vineyards. With parcels in prestigious appellations such as Clos de Vougeot, Pommard, and Santenay, the estate cultivates some of the classic Burgundy terroirs.
Yvon Clerget's style is characterized by elegance and authenticity – you won't find over-extracted blockbuster Wines here, but rather expressive cuvées that honestly reflect their origin. The vines are cultivated with respect for tradition and terroir. In the cellar, the team works carefully: natural fermentations, moderate oak treatment, and patient aging are paramount.
The cuvées from the Les Rugiens, Les Caillerets, and Clos du Verseuil vineyards showcase the diversity of Burgundy's terroir – from elegantly mineral Wines to structured examples with aging potential. These Wines are perfect if you love authentic Burgundy that makes sense and isn't just hyped.
At Wine In Time you'll find a curated selection of these treasures that you would otherwise have to search for a long time.

The Rugiens
The Domaine Yvon Clerget Les Rugiens Premier Cru 2023 comes from one of Pommard's most prestigious vineyards in the heart of Burgundy . Domaine Yvon Clerget cultivates its parcels with dedication and respect for nature – Les Rugiens delivers Pinot Noir of exceptional depth and structure, masterfully reflecting the stony terroir.
The vinification process is traditional: spontaneous fermentation with wild yeasts, gentle extraction, and aging in French oak barrels. The Domaine Yvon Clerget Les Rugiens 2023 thus demonstrates the balance between power and finesse that characterizes this Premier Cru. No fining or filtration compromises the wine's authenticity.
On the nose, dark cherries, blackberries, and delicate spice notes of clove and pepper unfold. On the palate, the Domaine Yvon Clerget Les Rugiens 2023 reveals a silky texture, supported by ripe tannins and vibrant freshness. Mineral notes and a hint of undergrowth lend it complexity. The finish is long, elegant, and characterized by Burgundian precision.
