The Rugiens
The Yvon Clerget Les Rugiens 2022 is an impressive Premier Cru from one of Pommard's most famous vineyards in Burgundy . Domaine Yvon Clerget stands for uncompromising handcraft and traditional winemaking – Les Rugiens is a prime example of the powerful side of Pinot Noir. The grapes come from the stony, iron-oxide-rich Les Rugiens vineyard, which gives the wine its characteristic depth and structure.
The wine is produced using traditional methods: hand-picked grapes, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, gentle extraction, and aging in French oak barrels. Yvon Clerget allows the wine time to develop its complexity without overdoing it with excessive oak. The result is a Pinot Noir of impressive precision and depth.
On the nose, the 2022 Yvon Clerget Les Rugiens displays dark cherries, blackberries, violets, and delicate spice notes of clove and pepper. On the palate, it unfolds a silky yet powerful texture with ripe tannins, spicy fruit, and a mineral freshness. The finish is long, elegant, and finely structured – a wine that is enjoyable now but can also age for years to come.
At Wine In Time you'll find this exceptional Premier Cru and can conveniently order it online – with express delivery in Vienna. Also, explore our selection of Red Wines and be inspired by the diversity of top Burgundian Wines.
Serve Les Rugiens slightly chilled at 16–18 °C with duck, goose, game birds, or hearty meat dishes. A wine for special moments.
