The Jean Grivot Les Suchots 2016 is aged in French oak barrels using traditional Burgundy methods. The winery employs a restrained approach to oak, ensuring that the fruit and minerality of the terroir are not overpowered. The grapes come exclusively from the Premier Cru vineyard Les Suchots, located south of Vosne-Romanée and renowned for its profound, spicy Wines. Vinification is carried out using natural yeasts, with controlled maceration and gentle extraction – resulting in complexity without harshness.

On the nose, the 2016 Jean Grivot Les Suchots reveals aromas of dark cherries, raspberries, and a hint of undergrowth, accompanied by delicate toasty notes and subtle spice. On the palate, a silky texture unfolds, supported by vibrant acidity and fine tannins. Red berries mingle with earthy notes, graphite, and a delicate smokiness. The finish is long and elegant, leaving a mineral aftertaste that invites another sip.
